Monoliths, Rialto Beach
After five days of alpine heaven, I moved on to Olympic National Park, and turned my focus to the coast. These sea stacks, towers of rock that rise straight out of the ocean, are a telltale sign that we're dealing with the Pacific Ocean, as we just don't see stuff like this out East. Careful control of exposure is necessary for a high contrast scene like this, and a long exposure leaves an abstract effect in the advancing surf.
