"Geyser by Moonlight"
Tucked away in the northwest Nevada Desert is this bizarre geyser. Created by a drilling accident some decades ago, this man-made hydrothermal feature spews out mineral-filled water that leaves deposits of various red, green, and yellow tones in interesting layers like a fountain. There's nothing in the world like this! I made this image by the light of the moon, using a series of stitched vertical images taken with a 20mm lens for 60 seconds on each exposure. The long exposure time lets the spraying, windblown mist leave wispy trails across the image, and allows the clouds to move as well!
