Sunset at Sand Harbor, Lake Tahoe, California

"Friends at Sand Harbor" On evening number two, which was just the next day, conditions are completely different at the same location. It's a calm evening, the lake's surface really is smooth like a mirror, and the sky turns a warm red. A few other photographers beat me to the location (a phenomenon that I will NEVER allow to happen again!), so you'll notice that in this composition I needed to back up a bit in order to not be in the others' way. You can see the edge of the shoreline in this image, and I needed to use a slightly longer focal length lens, a 24mm instead of a 20mm. Fortunately, the other photogs and I became friends on that shoot, and even went out for dinner and a beer together afterwards, so no (lingering) resentments here.... much.
